Quick Tip: Spice up your Hair Do.

My mother makes a note to always remind me that I have been blessed with perfect hair.  She’s not kidding.  I take horrible care of my hair.  Its lucky if it gets brushed once a week.  But, it stays strong and dedicated.  I have been searching for the perfect homemade shampoo recipe, but have yet to try one.  Last week I learned that baking soda, among the other thousand amazing uses it has, can rid your hair of those nasty chemicals you sometimes throw in it for shits and giggles.  Well, spices can do that for you to.

The next time you feel like being nice to your bob mix up a few herbs and spices and give it a lift.

For Dark Hair: Mix 1 teaspoon each of allspice, cinnamon, and cloves with 1 cup boiling water.  Let it steep for 30 minutes.  Use this mixture as a final rinse after you have shampooed your hair.  Pour over hair several times (you will need one bowl for pouring and one bowl for catching so you can repeat the process).  After a few go around, rinse it out and you are done!

For Light Hair: Do the same as above, but use chamomile tea instead.

I think I will try both.

Send me your pics of your new shiny dos!

  1. Try this tip. It works wonders as a shine boosting, softening treatment for hair: warm up some coconut oil, enough to coat the roots of your hair. Massage it well and leave overnight or for at least a couple of hours. Then, put a towel in hot water and wrap this around your head. This steams the hair roots and let’s it absorb the oil. Do this 3-4 times and then wash off after about 15-20 minutes. Be amazed at the bounce 🙂
