I love to make and eat cupcakes. I love to make and eat cookies. I also love dessert displays. I was in the thrift store the other week and found adorable plates. There wasn’t a whole set, so I couldn’t use them for dinner parties, but I found an even better use for them. They are perfect for a spring time backyard party. The next time you clean out your cupboards or visit a thrift store keep this tutorial in mind.
How to Reuse Old Dishware To Make a Cupcake Display
1. First, you will need two large plate and one small plates OR one small, one medium and one large and two mugs. The largest plate will be your bottom plate. Pick a mug for your first tier. Squeeze a small amount of guerilla glue on the top of the mug and let it sit for 5 minutes. Place the mug on the center of the plate. Be careful because the glue makes the surfaces even more slick then they already are.
Gorilla glue is the best thing ever! Just be careful not to get it on your skin.
2. Place glue along the rim of the mug (original bottom to the mug). Let it sit for 5 minutes. Center the second plate on top of the mug.
3. Stack a heavy book on top of the plate and let sit for 2 hours.
4. Repeat this process with your last mug and plate.
